San Fran: the close of a full day (part 3 of 5)

night out on the town

After our TCHO chocolate tour, the busiest part of our trip was over. We explored a little bit more of area on our tandem — North beach, Chinatown, and Telegraph Hill. Notable stops were AREA/SF (featured on scoutmob) and City Lights independent book store by Jack Kerouac Alley. Now it was time to return our bikes and clean up at San Remo.

Dinner was at the family-owned Italian restaurant Trattoria Cantadina on Mason Street. The atmosphere was perfect with the cable cars running outside the window and delicious food. After dinner we continued walking down Mason Street to Nob Hill where we relaxed for the rest of the evening at Top of the Mark. The view here was incredible! A swing band performed and we watched some very talented dancing couples — and decided we’d like to improve our swing dancing skills.

At this point in the trip, I was feeling incredibly blessed for several reasons:

1. we were able to see one of America’s icons in person (the Golden Gate Bridge)

2. we were able to have a string of uninterrupted date nights

3. we have wonderful health that allows us to walk and bike and city

4. we are able to set aside $ in our budget for trips such as these

5. I’m married to an amazing man who loves sharing adventures like this with me!

Next post: on our final day we head south on the coast.
