Updating some outdated capris

You never know what you’ll come across in the midst of moving… a box of drier sheets behind the drier, the attachments to the george forman grill you were looking for last year, lots of DUST, and a pair of flare capris.

creating a new seam on the inside

At the time I bought them, flares were in (or at least so I thought… maybe no one had the heart to tell me I was still  living in the 70s). I was about to toss them, but my mom thought a little sewing could turn them into straight leg jeans. So, we pulled out the sewing machine and took a break from the boxes.

We turned the legs inside out and pinned the sides making a new seam, which would cinch the legs tighter. Once we found the desired tightness around the knees, we rolled the bottoms making some cuffs.

The end result? Success! They are perfect to wear under boots.

Thanks, Mom!
