The LORD Establishes Our Steps

“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”
[Proverbs 16:9]

Three weeks until the baby’s due date.

Or wait. How about one day?

We visited Kennestone Hospital today after some initial concerns from our obstetrician. Due to the crazy weather, looks like a whole lot of ladies are having their babies (pressure changes can rupture thin membranes apparently). We got Bethany checked out at triage and her levels were looking pretty good. The doctor is still concerned a bit about some of baby’s growth levels and potential for pre-eclampsia. Concerned enough that–yes, we are going back in the morning to have the baby.

But not as concerned as to make us stay at the hospital under close observation. In fact, we went and ate Italian on the Marietta Square tonight (Bethany had the Eggplant Parmesan–haha).

That being said, we would appreciate your prayers as we look forward the the exciting journey of labor, birth, and adding our little baby girl “Sunshine”  into our lives! This is not the way we planned it out, but it is nice that we know what to expect and have the evening to rest and be together. We do trust in God’s timing and have been continuously praying for His way. Bethany may not have graduated yet, but she is (as I am writing this) finishing the last of her take-home final exams and will be done with the coursework for the semester! If we hadn’t been sent back home due to the full rooms she would have been taking an incomplete.

THE NEW GAMEPLAN:

  • The plan is to call the hospital at 5 am tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
  • If all is well and they have room for us, we’ll eat breakfast and go in about 6:15 am.
  • Then they’ll begin to induce labor around 7:30 am.
  • Labor is different for every woman, but we can expect to give birth sometime tomorrow evening.
  • 2-3 evenings in the hospital is typical. Pray for health for “Sunshine” and that  she’ll be able to come home quickly.

I’ll try to update my Twitter feed, but my primary concern is Bethany and the baby. After they are taken care of I can play PR representative to family and friends.

We love you all and we’re excited to start yet another new first in  our life! Thank you for your support and prayers! We can’t wait to meet our “Sunshine”!
