Disc Golf Date

picnicking at the park

Saturday night was Brian’s turn to plan our weekly date night — disc golfing at Oregon Park complete with a picnic dinner and ice cream at Bruster’s. [aren’t sure what disc golf is? Check out this link…)

Although we had both played a little in college, Brian soundly beat me on this course!

We started by picking up a starter set of disc at BP Sports Collectables on Marietta Square. Surprisingly, they are the largest disc golf store in Atlanta, and we can walk from our loft!

We packed a picnic dinner and were off to Oregon Park in Kennesaw, Cobb County’s only disc golf course. This year the course was expanded from a 9 to 18 hole course, so it took us a couple of hours to play though.

At the end of the course, we agreed that a one-time investment in some disc is well worth the cost. We got to romp around the woods, enjoy the setting sun, and encourage each other as we played. We crossed paths with some other disc golf enthusiasts and hope to invite others to join us next time we go.

Since there are courses across the nation, we think it would be neat to travel with our disc and play where ever we go! And, of course, it gives the outdoors an adventuresome and competitive twist.

Satisfyingly sweaty and dirty, our day ended with a double scoop from Bruster’s.

Thanks, Brian, for planning such a great date night!
