North Georgia Mountain Getaway

After a challenging first half of my semester, I welcomed the thought of a spring break. Brian also had been working 55 hr+ weeks, and we decided that a secluded mountain cabin was just what we needed!

We didn’t leave the cabin for 48 hours. We read by the fireplace, soaked in the hot tub, played games, cooked, and watched all of Gone with the Wind (which was filmed in Marietta, GA–the town we now live in). We spent a little time in downtown Blue Ridge on the way home, and went to an elementary art show.

We brought our telescope, which was an engagement gift from Brian, and looked at the stars. What a beautiful night view!

Weekend menu

Appetizer: Baked Brie with Golden Raisin Compote (see picture)
Dinner: Caramelized Onion & Blue cheese Burger and Crash Potatoes
Dessert: Flax Cookies

Breakfast: Everything bagel with fried egg and feta cheese
Lunch: Benedictine Sandwich (see picture)
Dinner: Suga Bianca with Gruyeres Cheese

Breakfast: Pancakes and Scrambled Eggs

We had a wonderful time together and are so thankful for this getaway! Thanks, Brian, for planning it!
